US Federal Court Judge
Harold H. Greene presides over the trial of the US vs. Western Electric
(AT&T) and changes the telecoms world forever.......
As a teenager Judge Greene
flees to the US from Nazi Germany, and returns to Germany as an intelligence
officer for the Allies. Following the War Greene obtains a law degree,
joins the US Department of Justice, and as Assistant to US Attorney General
Robert Kennedy writes the landmark US Civil Rights Act.
In a final consent decree
in the US vs. Western Electric trial, later known as "the Modified Final
Judgement", Greene orders that AT&T be broken up into eight companies
effective 01 January 1984, ending the largest anti-trust case in US history.
